General Information

Are face coverings required at the Museum?
Guests may choose to wear a face covering when visiting the Museum, but it is not required. Please do not visit today if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone diagnosed or showing signs of COVID-19.


What holidays does the Museum observe by being closed?

The Museum of Arts & Sciences, including the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, closes to observe the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

What is included in a MOAS admission ticket?
Admission to the Museum of Arts & Sciences also includes admission to the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art. Admission to the Lohman Planetarium can be purchased after the purchase of a MOAS general admission ticket.

Can I purchase tickets for the Museum online?
Yes, you may purchase admission to the Museum online. You must purchase MOAS general admission in order to purchase admission to the Lohman Planetarium. Lohman Planetarium admission can be purchased at the Museum’s Guest Relations desk.

Are gift certificates available for museum admission?
Yes. Please inquire at the Museum's guest relations desk.

Are gift certificates for the Lohman Planetarium available?
The Museum does not offer gift certificates for planetarium admission only. You can purchase a gift certificate for a MOAS membership which includes free planetarium admission.

How much time should I allow for visiting one or both museums?
The average time per guest does vary based on time spent in certain areas of the Museum. However, we would suggest that you allow for 2 1/2 hours to visit the main Museum (MOAS), plus the time of a planetarium show if you choose to attend one. You should allow for at least 1 hour to visit the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art.

If I pay admission for the day and then decide that I would like to become a MOAS member, can I apply my admission toward the yearly membership?
Yes! Daily admission rates per individual will play toward the cost of an annual membership if purchased on the same day.

What percentage of the MOAS collection is currently on display?
7.5% of the collection at the Museum of Arts & Sciences is currently on display.

Are any of the attractions at the Museum currently closed? 
The Cuban Museum is temporarily closed for reinstallation. The gallery will reopen on March 16, 2024, with a Member Preview on March 15, 2024.

Tuscawilla Nature Preserve will be closed until further notice. MOAS is assessing future plans in order to enhance the overall experience and ensure long-term sustainability. Updates will be communicated through the Museum’s website.

The Sculpture Garden is currently closed due to safety concerns from storm damage. 

The Roberson Visible Storage Building is currently closed for cleaning.

 

Amenities

Does the Museum have a Gift Shop?
Yes! The main museum gift shop is the Marketplace at MOAS which is located at the Museum of Arts & Sciences. Here, you will find a selection of children's gifts, jewelry, books, art prints, and more!

Is there a place to eat at the Museum?
Marketplace Cafe at BMOA (open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-5pm) is located at the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art and serves grab-and-go salads, sandwiches, and desserts as well as coffee, tea, wine, and beer. The Marketplace at MOAS serves a small selection of grab-and-go options as well as coffee, tea, wine, and beer. 


Is there seating offered in the Museum? 
There is centrally located seating in each museum to enjoy food and refreshments. There are benches located throughout the Museum. 

Where are the restrooms?
There are restrooms located in the North Wing corridor, within Root Hall, and within the Children's Museum at the Museum of Arts & Sciences. In the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, restrooms are located in the main entry space. 

Are wheelchairs or baby strollers available for use?
Yes - there are several wheelchairs and baby strollers available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

 

Visitor Policies

Are photographs permitted in the Museum's galleries?
Yes. The Museum allows photography in all galleries unless otherwise noted. The Museum does not allow flash photography or video recording.

Can I touch the exhibits in the Charles and Linda Williams Children's Museum?
Yes! We encourage interaction in the Charles and Linda Williams Children's Museum. This section of the Museum is very hands-on and encourages tactile exploration.
