The MOAS Education Department offers extensive outreach programs for many different groups. For children and school groups, we offer Family Science Nights, including the portable Planetarium, and after school programs. Education does not stop with children and students. Adult outreach programs are also an important part of the Museum's educational plan.
Contact the Museum's Education Coordinator at groupinfo@moas.org or ext. 312 to learn about the different opportunities that are available for ESE groups.
Science outreach is a popular component of the Museum's Education Department. In a partnership with General Electric (GE) volunteers, the Museum has developed nearly 100 tabletop hands-on science stations made for visits or outreach in a afterschool enrichment program called Family Science Night.
The Museum offers many adult programs as part of its educational plan. Adult outreach is offered to various groups on a variety of topics pertaining to art, science, and history.
Sponsored by Lowell and Nancy Lohman, the NEW MOAS Portable Planetarium is an exciting part of the Museum's science outreach that provides an inspirational way of presenting the universe in an immersive environment. Thanks to the generous support of Lowell and Nancy Lohman, this state-of-the-art mobile system allows us to extend the capabilities of our permanent Lohman Planetarium facility to communities beyond.
