Soapbox History: Exploring the Red World: A Historical Journey of Mars Missions

Date:
2/11/2025 at 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Event Description

Pack your bags and join us on a journey to Mars in the Lohman Planetarium. Our Planetarium Director, Seth Mayo, will chart a course to the Red Planet as he navigates through the storied history of our robotic exploration of this neighboring world. From our earliest flybys in the 1960s to sophisticated rovers digging into the Martian surface in the 21st century, we will look at how all of these challenging missions have shaped our understanding of where life may exist beyond the Earth and if we can be a multi-planetary species.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, as space is limited. If registration is full, please call the Museum at 386-255-0285 to be placed on a waitlist with the potential for another time to be scheduled.
