MOAS After Hours: In Partnership with The Locals Mix

Event Description

Join us at the Museum of Arts & Sciences for exclusive after-hours access to all galleries, happy hour drink specials, and live music. Guests can enjoy a special tour by Candace Knapp in her new exhibit on display within the Gary R. Libby Entry Court titled, Shimmer and Lace: The Art of Candace Knapp. Candace Knapp is an award-winning Florida artist who has exhibited throughout the state and has works in museum collections nationally and internationally. She has made capturing reflection on water her specialty when she paints on canvas. In her own words -- "There is something magical about light falling on water and the intricate patterns that appear. Undulating reflections of plants, sky, and sunlight in a river or pond suggest a fleeting glimpse of an alternate reality. These paintings are my flights of fantasy. They express my wish to follow the light to an inner state that is full of peace, hope, and delight." This exhibit highlights these paintings while bringing them together with a select few of her simple, modernist sculptural interpretations of plant forms in nature. This month we have partnered with The Locals Mix, who will be featuring live music by Petrichor.

This event will be socially distanced and masks will be required.
