Event Description

Join us in the Lohman Planetarium for a special pop-up talk with Dr. Saida M. Caballero-Nieves - Assistant Professor, Physical Sciences Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Dr. Caballero-Nieves will be discussing all things massive stars! 

Her talk will cover the following topics:

  • Learn about massive stars in the universe, their sizes, and their impact on the surroundings
  • Understanding the properties like radius and mass of massive stars
  • The significance of massive stars in enriching the universe with heavy elements
  • How massive stars form neutron stars and black holes
  • The search for massive binary stars in various environments

 

This pop-up Lohman Planetarium talk is included with paid museum admission. Register online for a seat. You will be required to purchase museum admission prior to your  visit or upon arrival the day of the show.
